A healthy diet during pregnancy is very important for the development of your baby. Implement the tips below for a free diet for pregnancy and take good care of yourself and baby.

Simple Natural Diet Tips For The Mommy To Be

Eating Healthy while you are pregnant is very important. Not only do you benefit but your baby benefits as well. Maybe you haven't been the best nutritional eater. Maybe you have a poor eating lifestyle. Well if thats the case then you need to make some changes mom. So lets talk about certain foods you need. First of all you need to increase your intake of protein, certain vitamins and minerals, such as folic acid and iron.

Lets talk about Protein. The main source of protein comes from animal protein unless you are a vegetarian/vegan. Try to eat organic meats if possible to get the proper nutrition you and your baby need. There are too many chemicals and pesticides in non-organic meats and the little one doesn't need to be exposed to those dangerous toxins and neither does mom. The same advice goes for eating organic vegetables as well. If it is not possible to purchase organic vegetables then go to your local health food store and purchase a fruit and vegetable wash to clean off some of the residue.

What about vitamins and minerals? While your Doctor may provide you with vitamin and mineral supplements there is also another way to get these nutritional supplements and that is through juicing. Vegetable juicing is very healthy and can supply you with extra nutrition. Juicing can benefit the mom who has a digestion problem and needs extra help.
Maybe your a big smoothie fan. Smoothies are also a great way to go. But if you are diabetic or have a tendency towards diabetes then you need to be very careful when you juice fruits and drink smoothies.

Of course you want to steer clear of alcoholic beverages. Alcohol is not your babys best friend. Drinking during pregnancy can cause physical defects, learning disabilities and emotional problems in your child.

What about Caffeine? Keeping the caffeine consumption low is also a good idea. Talk to your Doctor about the amount of caffeine that is acceptable.

Most moms worry about gaining weight during pregnancy.
Most women need only about 300 calories more per day above their pre-pregnancy needs. Somewhat between 1,800 and 2,200 calories overall per day to help keep a healthy weight for the length of the pregnancy.

Watch your portion sizes. Becareful of over indulging yourself. Don't get stuck in the thought pattern that you have to eat for two. That is one sure way to gain extra weight. Plus it makes it twice as hard to lose the baby weight once that little bundle of joy has arrived.

Last of all enjoy your pregnancy. And remember starting your baby out healthy is the best thing you can do.
